Room 22 is located in the SE wing of the house & was added in 1853 by Quitman when he also added a rear gallery. This room is named after Gen. Quitman, a native New Yorker, who was very influential politically & became 1 of Mississippi’s most illustrious personalities. The room has a King bed, full canopy, & the balcony overlooks the lovely courtyard.

Come enjoy the LOVELL ROOM #23-named after the Lovell members of the Quitman family. It's located on the 2nd floor of the Main House & has a king bed. In 1887 Quitman's granddaughters, Eva C. Lovell & Alice Lovell moved back to Natchez & took up residence at Monmouth.

Clay Room #24 - named for Henry Clay of KY, 1 of Monmouth's renowned visitors. Clay received a gift of magnolia plants from Monmouth & urged Quitman to visit his estate, Ashland, some day so he could "witness their prosperous growth." Located on the 2nd floor of the Main House, this lovely room is accessed by stairs & is above Restaurant 1818.
