March Events

Now that Ole Man Winter is almost over – I know some people are still in the throes of it - and we dig ourselves out from under all that snow (although we were spared the lovely white frosting here) it’s time to talk about Spring!  Spring is such a lovely time of year here at Monmouth and we invite you to share a Spring “break” with us by staying in one of our cottages or the Main House.

You can book through our website or call 601.442.5852 for assistance.  Here are a couple of events that might interest you:

Spring Pilgrimage - From March 7 through April 7, you can take a step back in time during Spring Pilgrimage.  In 1932, Natchez welcomed “pilgrims” into its historic homes for tours by hostesses dressed in 19th-century costumes - the tradition continues. Each home on tour is unique with 18th and 19th century furnishings, documents, diaries and more. This is a MUST-SEE for fans of antebellum history and Greek revival architecture!  During Spring Pilgrimage, Monmouth tours are given at 10 am, 12 pm, 2 pm and 4 pm.

Easter Egg Hunt – On Sunday, March 29 from 2 pm - 4 pm, Monmouth Historic Inn’s front lawn will become the backdrop for the Natchez Garden Club’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt.  This annual event is thoroughly enjoyed by all ages, and this year’s event promises not to disappoint as it takes place on Monmouth’s picturesque surroundings.  The event is open to the public and the price per child is $10 (each sibling after the first two are half price).  Please call the Natchez Garden Club if you have any questions at 601.442.9065.

Come on - treat yourself to one or both of these memorable events. Until next time – happy travels!
